The total area burned was over 12 acres, maybe closer to 15. Sheez if I had thought hunters would do this, I would of offered them salt licks and corn to go entice the deer, not burn our place down just because they believe the deer will come to the ash and new growth.

    There's a bright spot...IT will be MUCH easier to clear any new areas for pasture that your were thinking of.(next year) You are also much safer if there are more fires during the dry.(there almost always are)Glad you saved the house. :)

  3. I'm so happy you both and the doggies are ok! Good for you for not going down without a fight (but a twisted ankle is not fun either!).
    Hope you will be able to see some green soon. Another plus is that you can see better how the terrain looks now! :-)
